Yuki: Yawn....
Muku: Were you also studying until late last night?
Yuki: Yeah. Even though I finished submitting my portfolio as a student with a recommendation, I have to have a backup plan with my cram school in case I fail.1
Muku: When I heard that your target school was Amabi, I was a little surprised, but... once I thought about it, it really fits you.
Muku: Banri-san is also there, and Kazu-kun is an alumnus.
Yuki: Kinda. I'm in design so my academic department is different, but I'm glad I was able to ask them lots of things about the exam.
Muku: But the exam for an arts school seems so stressful... there's the practice exam, and the acceptance rate is so low....
Yuki: The way I see it, your public univeristy exam is more stressful.
Muku: For me, it just came to be that way because the people around me recommended I do it....
Yuki: That's not usually the case, though. This is because of your ability and the results from studying hard.
Muku: Mm....
Yuki: What, are you tired out from studying?
Muku: Kinda... unlike you, I don't really have a clear goal, so studying intensely everyday is kind of tiring.2
Yuki: Well, I can't say I don't get how you feel.
Yuki: For me, when I think about how I'll be able to properly study design after overcoming the exam, I feel like I can work hard.
Yuki: When I think about what it'll be like after I get in, it doesn't feel so bad.
Muku: You're incredible....
Yuki: Enough with that.
Yuki: Well, even if this is just how things unfold, why don't you look for something you want to do in university?
Yuki: At the very least, it won't be a waste if what remains is that you studied hard for the entrance exam.
Muku: Yeah... okay.
(walking SFX)
Yuki: —Ah.
Muku: ?
Yuki: Those snacks, I've been seeing lots of ads for them recently.
Muku: It seems that Misumi-san likes them. Should we LIME him about it
Yuki: Speaking of which, Misumi's reading troupe performance is today, isn't it?
Muku: Oh, right. Let's send a good-luck message to him.
Yuki: It can't be helped, so let's buy these snacks, too.
Muku: Misumi-san will be very happy.
Misumi: ......
Madoka: Nii-san, sorry I kept you—
Madoka: Nii-san?
Misumi: Ah, sorry!
Madoka: Something happened?
Misumi: I just saw a LIME from the others in Summer Troupe~. They couldn't come to see us, but they sent a good-luck message.
Madoka: I see. It's a weekday on an afternoon, so it's pretty difficult to come.
Madoka: The form was a little different this time, but your performance shined. Your range as an actor just keeps growing.
Madoka: I'm wondering, what kind of activities will you do, and what kind of actor will you become? I'm looking forward to it.
Misumi: Ehehe~! Thanks, Madoka.
Madoka: Also, this work was perfect for you.
Misumi: Really?
Madoka: You like the stars, don't you, nii-san? You're always inviting me to go stargazing....
Misumi: I see... I just thought that I wanted to see big triangles,3 but I think I do love the stars!
Misumi: I go with you, and I also go with Summer Troupe every year too!
Misumi: And I go up on the dorm roof at night a lot to see the stars! So~, I do like stars~.
Madoka: Haha, and you had no idea. It's just like you.
Madoka: But recently, I was inspired by you to read a book about constellations. Did you know that only the autumn night sky has no triangle?4
Misumi: Really?! Nooo.....
Madoka: Ah, but—depending on the timing, it seems you can still see the Summer Triangle during autumn.
Madoka: Also, a lot of the stars in the autumn sky are related to mythology. It's really interesting.
Misumi: I see~. Maybe I should read a book on constellations, too~.
Madoka: If that's the case, I'll send you my recommendations through LIME.
Misumi: Thanks!
Misumi: —Oh, by the way, Madoka, didn't you have something you wanted to tell me about?
Madoka: —That's right. Here....
Misumi: Tickets?
Madoka: It's a show put on by an acting group5 at Fuyou University. They usually perform on the school campus, but this time it's a special performance done off-campus.
Madoka: I wanted to go, but I have other plans that day and can't make it....
Madoka: There's two tickets, so I thought you could invite someone else from your troupe to come with you if you were interested.
Misumi: I'll go!
Madoka: I'm glad. I've helped out with writing the script for one of the groups in the Fuyou acting circle with a long history.
Misumi: Really?
Madoka: The head of the group is a focused, enthusiastic, and lively, so it'll be interesting.
Misumi: I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of performance it is~!
Muku: ......
Muku: (When I get home, I'll do my homework and a little bit of review. Then I'll wake up early tomorrow, gather my questions....)
Muku: (I don't hate studying, but doing it all day and night is kinda tiring. Who knew the exam would be this stressful....)
Muku: (It's amazing that Yuki-kun is able to look forward like that and study hard.)
Muku: (Of course, it's his passion for design that motivates him. It's really different from me and how I don't have a goal.)
Muku: Will this really be okay....
Muku: (But Yuki-kun... and Kyuu-chan, too, said that I should look for something I want to do when I get into university.)
Muku: (...This is the best choice for now.)
Muku: ——.
Muku: (That's bad, I almost just walked past the dorm. I zoned out, somehow.)
Misumi: Welcome home, Muku~!
Muku: Misumi-san?
Misumi: Up here, up here!
Muku: (He's on the roof, it seems.)
Misumi: I have something good, so come on up~!
Muku: Something good...?
1 In Japan, there are generally two ways to get into a university: by taking the exam that all applicants can sit for, or by applying with recommendation from a teacher. Yuki is choosing the latter, but in case that the recommendation is rejected, he's also preparing to take the exam like normal. [↑]
2 The verb he uses literally is like. "pickled in studying" lol [↑]
3 He's talking about stars that make a triangle formation. One of them, the Summer Triangle, is referenced in the Misumi and Kazunari duet song "San San Party Night". [↑]
4 Like mentioned before, there is a Summer Triangle, as well as a Winter and Spring Triangle. There is no triangle named after autumn. [↑]
5 The word used is "circle" (サークル). "Circle" is the university equivalent of a high-school club, but there can be multiple surrounding a similar theme (e.g., multiple acting groups). This will be explained more clearly later on in the story. [↑]
