This is the translation for the 20 minute-long MANKAI STAGE version of the Floral Prince play that was a part of the ~SUMMER 2023~ performance. For the songs that are part of the story leading up the play, see the sticky masterpost.
- Please note that this doc only has the translation, and not the Japanese or romaji. The Japanese, romaji, and translation are available on the yaycupcake wiki.
- This song was transcribed by ear and then translated, so there may be some errors.
- This song isn’t available on Spotify in some regions (despite the rest of the album being fine), but it can be listened to on Youtube
- Because of the nature of this play
and the amount of times I’ve translated it,I decided to make this translation err on the more poetic and lyrical side without actually needing to write singable lyrics. This is why there’s no Japanese or romaji here, because some parts won’t match up. If you want a slightly more literal version, you can take a look at the version of this song on the yaycupcake wiki. - Just for funsies I added in some notes regarding what’s happening on stage every now and then. Eastern King: An evil witch cast a spell on the Princess.

Eastern King: I will give the person who is able to break the curse the Princess’ hand in marriage.

Shine: I can’t let the princess of a kingdom as big as the Eastern Kingdom go to another kingdom....
Florence: That won’t do! I must save the princess, no matter what!

Rose: Rejected.
Broto: A wise choice.
Florence: Next stop: the Solar Kingdom!
Sunny: Hey! This land belongs to the Sun!
Florence: Oh, Prince Sunny! We came to look for the Sunstone.
Sunny: That’s just a myth. How stupid.
Florence: But we need to break the Princess’—
Sunny: Hmph. I’ll be using our kingdom’s royal wizards for that.
Florence: Amazing!

Florence: I mean, as long as the Princess’ curse can be broken, that’s all that matters, right?

Broto: Seems you’ve upset him.
Florence: Yeah.... Guess I’ll keep trying to look for the Sunstone, then.
Sunny: I already told you, there’s no such thing.
Florence: We won’t be a bother to you, so will you please let us look?
Sunny: Nope. Denied.
Broto: Talking with him is futile. If we search here secretly, then—
Florence: We can’t do that, it’s his kingdom.

Florence: It’s not a waste! It’s just like you said, the Sunstone really did exist! And the wizards Prince Sunny found will break the Princess’ curse, so all is well!

Rose: ...In the Stellar Kingdom, there’s a strange Stardust that, when scattered over the ground, can grant wishes.

Rose: I’ll show you the way.
Florence: You’re still coming with us?
Rose: I-I’ve come too far to turn back now, after all....

Florence: So it was a lie.... Well, as long as his mother isn’t actually ill. That’s what matters.

Broto: What do you plan to do about the Princess, Your Highness?
Florence: I won’t be the one, but the other three princes can break her curse!
Rose: —Idiot! Do you even care about the Princess at all?!11

Rose: ...I was wrong about you.... Just go home and grow flowers in your head by yourself!
Broto: ...It’s come to this, hasn’t it.
Florence: Why was Rose so angry...?
Broto: He’s got a lot of things to deal with. At any rate, we should return home.
Florence: But, Rose....
Broto: Even if you chase after him, you don’t know where he lives! It’s useless!
Florence: Rose....
Broto: ...Goodness. I guess there’s no helping it.
Florence: Broto?
Broto: Our kingdom also has a wish-granting legend.
Florence: Really?
Broto: There’s a flower called a Dreambud, where if you drink its nectar it will grant your any wish.
Florence: Amazing, Broto! But why didn’t you say anything earlier?
Broto: I thought it would be good for Your Highness to endure some hardship first. Let’s find the Dreambud and return to the Eastern Kingdom to meet the Princess again. If we do that, there’s a possibility that Rose may return.
Florence: You’re the best servant ever! Let’s go, Broto, let’s find the Dreambud.

Broto: There aren’t many young men with the name “Rose” out there, are there?

Broto: You have my gratitude, Your Highness.
Florence: Rose, I....
Rose: A stupidly honest, vain, and good-natured person like you can’t survive without a clever wife like me. I can’t help it, I’ll marry you. Any objections?

1 Florence says “Rose! A name for a rose,” but using the Japanese word for rose. I took some liberties to make the translation less redundant & to add on to the R&J reference in the next line. [↑]
2 Misumi takes the hunter’s trap prop and puts it on his head. It’s very cute. [↑]

8 In the in-game play, Tenma is shown just kinda gently tossing the stones over his shoulder. In the stage play, Tenma throws them like he’s throwing bricks at Stonewall. Granted its because the rocks are actually made of paper or some other light material and tossing it over his shoulder would break the illusion, but its incredibly funny to watch Tenma pick up a “rock” the size of his head and just start yeeting them. 15 Usually when referring to the person who placed the cursed on Rose, the characters use “witch” (魔女, majo). This is the only instance where she is referred to as a “wizard” (魔法使い, mahoutsukai), the same way that Sunny’s wizard is referred to. I originally thought this was a mistake, but it’s present in both the official album release and in the stage play recording I watched, so it’s intentional. For consistency, I decided to just render it as “witch” so as not to confuse with Sunny’s wizard. [↑]
